Basic Individual User
Have set up a personal account in a Symbiota portal and be able to create private checklists, store personal records that have appropriate information in DarwinCore fields used by Symbiota, and print labels. Be able to display taxon pages, view maps, and download specimen records meeting specific criteria.
Advanced Individual User
Be able to provide and submit high quality-image based records and field images; be able to view the default taxon tree and explain the difference between taxonomic and nomenclatural synonyms and understand how these affect queries. Be able to use the Taxonomic Names Resolution Service and KeyBase. [These last two are probably useful only for plant people through there is no reason why animal groups could not have dichotomous keys]. ADD in stuff about the GIS features here.
