In November 2023, the Symbiota Support Hub collaborated with the North American Network of Small Herbaria (NANSH) and the Consortium of Northern Great Plains (NGP) Herbaria to grow and advance these portal communities.
Campaign Summary
In November and December 2023, the Symbiota Support Hub hosted a joint Portal Advancement Campaign for the Consortium of Northern Great Plains Herbaria and North American Network of Small Herbaria. A series of four drop-in office hours enabled one-on-one support and provided networking opportunities for members of both portal communities. Campaign accomplishments included:
- Providing in one-on-one support for 8 portal members, including onboarding two new collections
- Facilitating the migration of one imperiled collection to the Northern Great Plains Herbaria portal, which added 145,565 new specimen records to SEINet
- Offering custom data cleaning and data publishing assistance to 26 and 29 herbaria, respectively
- Sending 15 personalized invitations to potential new member herbaria
Campaign Schedule
Office Hours dedicated to the needs of these portal communities will be held on Thursdays at 1p Pacific / 4p Eastern. Portal members are encouraged to use Office Hours to ask the Hub questions and connect with other members of their community.
