MyCoPortal has moved!

The migration of the Mycology Collections Data Portal—aka MyCoPortal—to Symbiota Support Hub servers was successfully completed on October 31, 2025! We owe huge thanks in particular to Phil Anders (University of Illinois) and Greg Post (Symbiota Support Hub) for all their hard work on this very complex and time-consuming process.

What does this migration mean for MyCoPortal users?

  • First, all users will need to reset their passwords in order to log in to the MyCoPortal (instructions). You can use your same email address/username. This is necessary to protect the security of the portal. If you have any trouble, please email the SSH at help@symbiota.org.
  • MyCoPortal has a new Help Desk email address! Please message help@symbiota.org rather than help@mycoportal.org with all your MyCoPortal questions and needs.
  • The portal has been updated to the newest codebase, Symbiota 3.3. It will portal will look a little different and have new tools. A summary of new features from 3.3 can be found in this article. All features are supported by documentation on our Help & Resources site, Symbiota Docs.
  • Lastly, if you previously batch uploaded images through the Symbiota Toolkit, you will need to transition to the new SSH protocol. We are still setting up this protocol for the MyCoPortal and will be in touch once it is complete and ready for uploads.

We understand that this migration has precipitated some changes that may take some time to get used to. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to help@symbiota.org with any questions or confusion, as we aim to keep your important work running as smoothly as possible.
