In August 2024, CCH2 leadership collaborated with the Symbiota Support Hub to grow and advance this portal community.
Campaign Summary

The CCH2 community showed enthusiastic support for its Portal Advancement Campaign in August 2024. Over the course of the month, Office Hours sessions were attended by 23 unique participants representing herbaria located across California and in neighboring states. Major accomplishments of the CCH2’s campaign included:
- Publishing 9 new datasets to GBIF: BORR, INF, GDRC, KNFY, KNFSC, KNFHC, RSA-Xylarium, RSA-Microscope, and RSA-Bryophytes.
- Indexing 14,000 taxonomic names to the central taxonomic thesaurus, in turn making an additional 50,040 specimen records searchable in the portal
- Standardizing 33,124 basisOfRecord values (=99.9% clean!)
- Adding 8,903 georeferences to the portal
- Resolving 257 reversed elevation value and 113 inverted coordinates
- Updating 12 collections contacts
- Onboarding 1 new collection (SCNHM)
